St. John’s 101 is a 10-week course designed for those new to the church or for those who are lifelong Episcopalians that desire to be Baptized, Confirmed, Received, or Reaffirmed. During this class, Fr. Ripp will review What It Means To Be An Episcopalian and discuss the history and mission of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
This class is currently being held on Zoom only.
A newcomers dinner is a small informal gathering held at parishioners’ homes to welcome a group of new members.
Out of an abundance of caution, Newcomers Dinners are postponed until further notice.
Parishioner contact information is essential for the church office. New members must complete and submit the form which provides information such as an address, email, phone, birthdays, and anniversaries. Complete and submit an Everybody (In!) Together Ministry Pledge Card and an Estimate of Giving Card. Completing these cards symbolizes a commitment of time, talent, and treasure to be offered to God through the church. For more information, the Everybody (In!) Together Booklet is available online, in the office, in Newcomers packets, and the Narthex on Sundays, as are the Everybody (In!) Together Pledge Card and an Estimate of Giving Card.
A new member liturgy is a short liturgy in which new member candidates commit to making St. John’s their church. The congregation also commits to welcoming new members and all they bring to this community of faith. This usually follows the completion of a St. John’s 101 class and takes place during a Sunday worship service.
